Once you are a registered ebay user you will be able to bid or buy items on ebay. You will start off with a zero feedback. Feedback is a very intergal part of the ebay system. To learn about feedback I highly recommend reading The Ebay feedback system.

You first step will be search ebay for the good you are looking to purchase. Basically you have a few options here. You can do a search. The search will look for every word entered to be in the sellers title of the item for sale. If you check of the 'search in title and descriptions" box than the results will increase. You may also find that if there are not a lot of results in the search store items will also show up. You can buy them right away.

On the items that show up in the search results under auction may or may not have a buy it now option. If it does you have the option of bidding on the item or just buying it now. If there is not a buy it now option than you only may bid.
